Preparing For Spring

Dreaming of Spring? The best gardens are enjoyed alongside a lush, green lawn. So, why not get Spring Ready and let your lawn take centre stage.

Spring is in our sights! And you can benefit from a beautiful, healthy lawn the moment Spring arrives, with our revolutionary Spring Ready treatment. We truly are very proud of it!

Applied from as early as January, our Spring Ready treatment will wait patiently on your lawn, waiting for the optimal time to release. Spring Ready will release its lawn food when the combination of rain and soil temperature is just right, perhaps a warm spell in late February? However, if the weather changes and we get a very cold spell the fertiliser will stop its controlled release, lock up and wait for the combination conditions to be right before it continues.

Winter Lawn Care Tips

Although the weather is cold, it’s good to wrap up warm and take care of a few gardening chores. This will ensure our lawns are healthy and ready to be enjoyed come Spring!

You should…

Remove items

If an object is left on the grass during cold weather, it can create large dead spots because of the weight of the object. In the spring the grass in that area will be stunted and thinner than the rest of the lawn!

Remove leaves

Leaves will block out sunlight and air which your grass needs to survive. The trapped moisture underneath also creates moss-loving conditions.

Repair lawn edges

Use turf cut from other areas of the garden to neaten up the areas around the flower and shrub beds.

Plants

If you have potted plants on patio areas, make sure they are raised on bricks to prevent build-up of algae from sitting in the wet.

Maintenance

Dry spells during Winter are a great time to treat any timber structures in your garden, with quality wood preservative & stain. This will not only protect them from the cold, but also ensure the wood lasts longer.
